Welcome to the official website of the Buhl Highway District

Established November 1912

The Buhl Highway District is one of four highway districts serving Twin Falls County. Each district is a political subdivision of the State of Idaho and a special-purpose district not part of the state, city, or county governments. Information regarding the authority of highway Districts is outlined in Idaho Code Title 40, Chapter 13.

The Buhl Highway District maintains approximately 267 miles of rural roadways, bridges, culverts, and associated signs within our boundaries. The District does not have jurisdiction over the City of Buhl or the City of Castleford roads. The District is divided into three sub-districts, each represented by an elected Commissioner. The District has eight employees.

The mission of the Highway District is to ensure safe, efficient, and sustainable transportation for our community and its users. We are dedicated to maintaining and improving our rural roads through planning, construction, and maintenance. The Board and staff are committed to ensuring that the community and all users are served to the best of our ability.
