Buhl Highway District

Established November 1912

The Buhl Highway District is one of four highway districts serving Twin Falls County, Idaho. Each district is a political subdivision of the State of Idaho and a special-purpose district, independent of the state, city, or county governments. The authority and responsibilities of highway districts are outlined in Idaho Code Title 40, Chapter 13.

The Buhl Highway District is responsible for maintaining approximately 267 miles of rural roadways, including bridges, culverts, and associated signage within its boundaries. The District does not have jurisdiction over roads within the City of Buhl or the City of Castleford.

The District is divided into three sub-districts, each represented by an elected Commissioner. The District employs eight staff members dedicated to maintaining and improving the rural road network.
